Ideal photos for digipack;

As our artist wasn't available to take pictures to put on our first draft we used photos from when we did our first day of filming for our video. There were a few things I noticed which needed improving for when we take our photos for the final thing. The lighting needed to be a lot brighter, her hair and makeup needs to be more visible and 'perfect'.
For the final digipack we will be taking photos against the white screen at school to make it look more professional and like something you'd see in stores.

To achieve this look on my digipack i'm going to take some pictures of our artist in front of the white screen at school. I will ensure that her hair and make up are done to perfection and that on the photos she looks the part. I'm going for the complete Nina Nesbitt look on my digipack.
I will have her with either red/pink lipstick, depending on what outfit she is wearing. Eyeliner drawn like on previous photos, and her hair backcombed and slightly wavy. Outfit wise, i'm thinking off either some shorts or another dress. As I want her playing the guitar in one on her photos, i'm hoping to position her in a way in looks like she knows what she's doing.

Hopefully once we've taken these photos our digipacks will look appealing and stand out for our target audience. I'm trying to achieve the 'popstar' yet 'girl next door' look on the digipack.

Hair, Make Up and Outfits.

Today was our first day of shooting and our first day with Izzy. Before we started filming we decided on hair and make up for the bedroom shots. We've decided to go with how Nina Nesbitt has her hair when its down, which its big and slightly wavy.

We took the idea from some photos of Nina, and gave Izzy flicks on her eyes. The gives her more of a "the girl next door/folky" look.

We've decided on a pinky lipstick, which goes well with her outfit.

This is our first outfit, a denim dress which Izzy will be wearing when working in the sweet shop.
Me and Sophie thought it would be better for her to wear a dress in the sweet shop, as it gives off more of a sweeter girly look, rather than jeans and a top.
She will also be wearing an apron in the sweet shop.

This is the second outfit which Izzy will be wearing. Izzy will be wearing this for the bedroom shots. We have put Izzy in a skirt and top for the bedroom shots, to give a very girly feel.

Similar Videos;

To help us re-create our video, we have taken ideas from Panic Cord - Gabrielle Aplin and Dumb by Tich.

Both of us really liked the songs and videos. Also they are similar to our artist Nina, in the style of music and style of videos.

Representations

Throughout the music video, we're trying to potray Izzy to the audience as a sweet girl who is trying get away from her retail store job (the sweet shop) and live her dream, which is to become a singer/songwriter.
We are going to show this to the audience as we're using the idea of a 'memory box' and her having a book which Poppy (izzy) is going to write lyrics in. You'll see shots on her working in the sweet shop, looking bored, or doing something wrong and constantly listening to music. Other shots of her writing lyrics and then shots of her singing with her guitar.
To show to our target audience that she is a sweet girl, we're going to dress her in a denuim dress, giving her a cute look, and doing her hair and make up pretty, but not over the top. We also want give off the homely/girl next door look, which dressing her in dresses and shirts will give her that style of look, like Nina.
You will be able to tell through her facial expressions that she is bored of her normal shop, and she loves singing. This will be shown through close up shots of her in the shop and her singing.

Possible ideas

We have been looking at different music videos for inspiration for our own music video and we have found possible ideas we could recreate.

This is quite a girly shot to do, by shooting the girl riding happily on her bike. This also creates the image of the girl next door. I think this would be effective in our music video because it is about being bored of her current job, and this could be the way she could get to her job.

We want to recreate this shot by different words coming up on different objects/props. For example this is cinema notice board. I think by posting some of the lyrics onto different objects during the video will look effective.

For example this burger van has got some of the lyrics on it under the hatch. It stands out and makes the video more interesting.

We like the idea of a split screen by showing four/two different faces/emotions. We think this will add more of a variety of different effects to the video and make it more interesting. We could do some well known symbols such as the peace sign to add the girly essence to the video.

Influenced Artists and Fashion

Ellie Goulding's style of music is Indie/pop genre. A lot of her music videos are similar to Nina Nesbitt's, as they don't have any choreographed dances in it, Ellie Goulding is dressed in clothes from places like Urban Outfitters and the videos are simple and easy, not too much going on. Ellie Goulding is an artist which will influence some of our work as we'll take some ideas from her music videos and put them into our own.

Both Nina Nesbitt and Ellie Goulding are looks which would be achievable if you were to go shopping and go back with their style of clothing etc. Both of these artist will influence our own artist, as we'll hopefully find someone who is similar to Nina Nesbitt. For big artists like Rihanna and Jessie J, you wouldn't be able to achieve their looks without it taking a while. Also people like Lady Gaga who have their clothes and outfits made for them, something like that would be impossible to achieve. Nina Nesbitt style is very homely look, so shops like Urban Outfitters and Topshop where you'd find her clothes would be from.

Abercrombie and Fitch and Jack Wills clothing give off that homely look as they're not your typical "River Island" kind of stores.
We may want to dress our Artist/s in clothes from these particular stores, because we want to give off that homely feel.

Hair product adverts may influence our artist, as they may use the products which are being shown on the adverts, e.g. the vo5 advert creating smooth and silky hair.

Artist;

We have chosen Izzy to be our artist in our music video because we felt she was best suited for the look we're trying to achieve. Izzy is 18, which is the perfect age for our artist and also our target audience. We want to give off your "typical popstar idol" through the video for teenage girls aged 12+, and Izzy will give off this look well.
Female Artist.
Izzy will suit the style of clothing Nina Nesbitt wears, and also herself dresses in things from topshop, which will benefit us when trying to style her.
We would be able to style Izzy to make her the perfect artist for our video, with her hair and make up done up we'll achieve the correct look.
Izzy is also suitable because of her looks, hair, she's sweet and girly and has long'ish hair, which is the look we're going for and we want to give off this "sweet, girly" look to the audience.
We're also at an advantage because Izzy is able to sing, act and play the guitar.
