Use of Panorama in my final digipak

I decided to put a panorama on my digipak because after looking at other pop artists albums they feature in the inside covers of the CD/digipak. Examples of these are from the artists One Direction, Rihanna, Gabrielle Alpin

These background of all these landscape pictures are all scenic for example Fields, Beaches, Forests, Lakes and city landscapes of London. These pictures make the panels in the CD more interesting instead of the more traditional pop pictures which just contain close ups of their highly polished face. 

I believe the artist we have created is not the traditional pop artist which has a very 'perfect' face and hair. She is more of a relexed young pop artist which does not rely on her heavily done make up to sell her digipak's. Where instead she has created a more intrested covers for example her with a prop for example a guitar. Our artists music is a mixture between pop and folk which involves a lot of acoustic sounds of the guitar. So I believe by putting the panorama of the sea and beach on the inside covers of my digipak it gave the album a more colourful and youthful feel.

The Song we have chosen to do is 'Way in the World' by Nina Nesbitt. The setting for Nina's video is the harbour and the beach. So this is another reason why I choose to do a scencery shot of the beach. I beleive she choose this scence because it is a happy and fun environement that her friends can meet and socialise. This is also backed up by having her and some friends in the music video.  The location is also thought/memory evoking and could represent what the other songs on the album would be like. For example past relationships, friendships or experiences.

Poster Research;

After researching some posters, a lot of pop artists tend to use the same photo from the album cover, and sometimes the same design, and just add a bit of extra detail, about the album etc. I looked at Jessie J's and Rihannas, and they use the same colours which have been used on the albums, this is to help buyers Identity to albums, and they have both used eye catching colours, which will attract people.

Jessie J has used the exact picture and layout on her album poster, as she has on the cover and her album. She has also used the same font, and colour the writing in the black box. Rihanna has also used the same idea, but faded the black so it looks like its gradually turned into black from the picture. Although Rihannas is a tour poster, the colours and font are the same, this shows its a tour for her new album. Both posters are very simple, and bold, and i've tried to fit that in with my poster. 

I have used the same photo from my album for my tour poster. This will help people recognise my album, and also identify the artist better. I've used the same font and same colours as the album cover, i've just positioned the writing differently, and made her look brighter to stand out better. 

Digipak Research;

After looking at different pop artist's CD covers, I've noticed that they're very simple with bold colours to make it stand out. Some of Rihannas and Katy Perrys are taken with a scenery shot which links in with their videos, they mainly have close up shots of just their faces, making them look "perfect", bright and bold to sell to their target audience, and also attracting the male population. They have also used the same photos, or photos in the same outfit for album/cd posters. This is to help recognise CD covers and also the artist. 

The digipak on the left, I change the opacity on the main picture, and also on the writing, to give it more of a fine and softer look. However the digipak on the right, i've made the photo brighter and also the writing brighter, to make it stand out more, and I also think it looks more professional. 

As we were originally going to use "Way in The world" as the album name, we realised that it was too long, and no other pop artist uses a song from their album as the albums name. I typed in keywords for Nina Nesbitt into google, and the word "Keys" came up, which both me and Sophie liked, and felt it fitted well with our genre. 

Both these album covers inspired me, and helped give me ideas for my own album cover. I noticed that most pop artist, have only the face, or shoulders upwards on the cover, with the writing at the bottom of the page. Rihanna's album theme is red, and if you look at her album 'LOUD' she's used the pinky/red colour throughout, using the white writing to contrast well. This will make her stand out, and its also a bold and eye catching colour. As for Jessie J, she's used black at her theme colour, using gold to contrast with it. They cover has been thought about well, as her Nails, lips, hair, colour and eyes are all black, with the 'Jessie J' in gold at the bottom, making this album cover bold and eye catching. 

This is Jessie J's back cover to her album "Who You Are". I really liked how simple and plain it was, and how well the writing stood out. I've also taken the idea of using the colour from "Keys" and used it on the back cover of my album, like Jessie J has. This writing is clear, and well spaced out. 

For the inside of my digipak i've done a little booklet, which both and Sophie did together. I made the two inside panels plain, and used a good bright colour on the front of the booklet, so it would contrast well against the navy panels. For the inside of the book, I thought that we could use photos where our artist Izzy isn't looking the camera, and make the opacity low, so it looks almost transparent. We've done the lyrics to each song on the album, making it more suitable for our target audience.

Both me and Sophie choose to do the same booklet for our digipaks as we we're doing the same artist and same songs, we both felt that it would be easier and look better if we worked on it together.
