I got some feedback from meg who is another student in my class. She does not listen to music from the genre of pop however gave me some feedback on my poster and digipak and this is what meg wrote:
Poster:
I like the fact you've chosen a landscape form of presenting your poster, I think this works really well as your artist is situated to the right and the majority of the text sits on the opposite side. The use of a white background also works well to help the text stand out, the use of star ratings also ties in well with your genre of music. The photograph of your artist is well lit and framed, the presentation/styling of your artist suits the genre of your music.
Even better if... the 'Poppy Mills' typography was a more illustrative font so it stands out more compared to the rest of the text, however I understand why you have chosen more a more subtle font as it ensures the image of your artist is the main focal point of the advertisement.
DigiPak:
Your digipak and poster work really well together, they both use the same conventions which also suit your genre well. The fact you have used the same picture of your artist on your advertisement and digipak means that an audience can link them both together and recognise them as a brand/product. I like the way your track listing is laid out. I also like the use of a panorama in your digipak, it makes it more interesting and again works with the style/genre of your music.
Even better if... the barcode on the back of the digipak was slightly smaller and without the white background, a more obvious colour scheme would also improve the overall look of your digipak, however I think it looks professional and suits your artist 'Poppy Mills' and genre of music well.
I thought this feedback was very helpful and detailed. Meg made it very clear what she liked about the product and even gave me feedback on what I can do to improve the product.
My teacher also gave Faye and myself some feedback on our Draft music video. We then thoroughly looked through the feedback and made necessary improvements we could to help improve the video.

The singer works, the editing works and a lot of the shots work too, the
narrative doesn't and I don't think it’s really needed. Try and make more of
the mise en scene in the shop, your most interesting shots involve movement
so keep the camera on the move as much as you can. Try to also emphasise
the colours in the shop like Katie Perry does in this vid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F57P9C4SAW4
and like they do in the
original Willy Wonka
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78gt7pfjlCU
You are going to need more ‘friends’ in the video and try and create the
excitement that Willy Wonka does. I’d probably avoid exteriors of the shop as
they don't work. I think more than one location is fine provided that the
second location is ‘plain’ and that the other ‘friends’ still feature, for every
location have a new outfit. That blind woman off the telly has a video with
‘friends’ and that's your target market (not the blind). Certainly get rid of all
the guitar shots. Avoid shots by the windows as this just messes up the
lighting. Take more care dressing the extras as they too need to have hair
and make up done. I love the shot at 1;33, interesting and well framed,
annoyingly the guitar shots could work (minus the gutar) because again you
have movement BUT there must always be EYE CONTACT. Try and watch
loads of rubbish adds where you have groups of girls, they tend to always be
laughing, bumping into one another, holding hads etc
BIG TIPS
Re-film the whole thing
More CU of singer
Ditch the narrative (but feel free to disagree)
Borrow the lamps from college
RESEARCH similar pop texts
Find more friends (preferably arts students and NOT ALL GIRLS you need
token lads)
Find a second simple location
Keep that excellent energy in your editing
Investigate and experiment with effects to make the shots appear
This again was very clear feedback we have been given. Sir emphasises on the shots that
worked well and they mainly involved movement so this had to be our main focus when re-filming
for our final music video. He then sent us links to other existing music videos to get ideas from
and how they framed their shots. The mise en scene is important in pop videos so by looking at the
existing 'Candy man' music video which was set in a sweet shop gave us inspiration for the
types of movements and shots we can do in the location. The guitar shots did not work because
it did not look realistic because our model could not play the guitar so we decided to choose
other types of shots we could do instead. When we were planning our story board we decided to
have our music video to include a narrative. however after making our draft and by looking at the
feedback sir gave us the narrative was not clear and obvious enough within the video. So we
decided to ditch the narrative and have more close up shots of the artist instead.
Could you add detail about how you'll be arranging your premiere etc and when.
