How Effective is the Combination of Your Main Product and Ancillary Texts?
The combination of my main product and auxiliary texts was moderately effective because they linked and worked collaboratively together. In the pop genre the main aspect of the fans is the artist star appeal. The appearance of the artist is very important to the fans so this was the feature of both the digipak and poster. The picture that is used on the poster is her in a neutral expression with a light smile. Her hair is natural and the make up is lightly done. The similar picture is used on the digipak however the only difference is the outfit choice. These pictures will be appealing to the young target audience because they are pictures of their role model.
The digipak and poster are presented in more of as minimalistic style compared to other pop posters and CD covers. For example the text is kept to a minimum and their are no other images on the posters or digipak except images of her. The plain white background on both the products show that the attention should go to the main feature which are the images of her. The font for all three media texts which is the poster, digipak and music video is the same and this therefore creates a professional look to them all and also makes the font recognisable to the artists name.
This is obviously going to need a lot more work Soph. Use some of the theory I gave your for evaluation q1 for this and focus on your star image in your work. Also use some of that feedback from your audience questionnaire. You really need to think about branding and appeal to your target audience.
