Thoughts on the second photo shoot of Izzy
By looking through the shots we have taken on the second photo shoot in comparison to the first I can see a huge difference and improvement in the quality of the photos.
In the first photo shoot we shot her in the bedroom as that was one of the locations in the music video. However after looking through the pictures afterwards we noticed that the shots were too dark and did not flatter Izzy. We also took quite a few shots of her whole body this is not necessary for the digipak images, as close ups look better on the CD panels.
We then started to look at current images of Nina Nesbitt and what her images are like on her EP's:
By looking at these pictures we tried to recreate this look on our own model Izzy.

I think the style of these pictures are very similar to the style of Nina's because of the similar facial expressions and style. The lighting in these pictures are much brighter than the first photo shoot we did as we had the use of professional equipment for example the white screen and two parachute lights. By using this equipment the lighting makes the quality of the photo better and the colours in the photo to be brighter. These types of photos you will expect to be on the front of CD cover and magazine adverts instead of the photos we took on our first photo shoot because they look more professional because of the plain background and the quality of the shots.
Second Photo Shoot;
In a lot of photos of Nina, she is framed more to one side.
This is the photo we used to help us frame our photos, and also helped us style our artist correctly, to get the best "Nina Nesbitt" look possible.
We found framing our artist on the ride hand side worked really well. We styled her with natural make up, adding the eyeliner flicks which Nina wears, and a red lipstick to make her lips stand out better. We backcombed her hair, to give her hair more volume.
I wanted to try what a full length shot would look like, and the whole framing and positioning looks off. From trying out this we stuck to just elbows and upwards for the photos, and made sure she had full eye contact with the camera.

Feedback on Digipak and Poster;
After being given the feedback from my first draft of the digipak and Poster I now know what things I need to improve on, and what things will help me to get a better grade and make my digipak and poster look more that the genre "pop'.
For the digipak, the plectrum motif didn't fit my genre, which means I needed to dress and style my artist to look like a popstar and fit my genre of music. To improve this popstar/homely look, my artist needed to dress in skinny jeans, leggings, baggy top and/or a knitted jumper. Also EYE CONTACT is a must for any cover. I think something which let me down when doing my digipak was the photos, and the lighting and position of them weren't good enough for a pop digipak.
To help improve this, I started by taking pictures of Izzy against the white screen in the ideal clothing with Sir suggested, and I also had a look at the type of clothes Nina Nesbitt wears on her front covers. We went with the baggy knitted green jumper, polka dot blouse, red tshirt, and a pink/red baggy jump. Just by taking good photos, and styling her hair and make up make her look like a popstar, and with the lighting and white screen as well, we had the ideal photos for our digipak and poster. I also think I need to have a better lay out, and position the photos and writing more in line.
Improvements for the poster is to make it an advert for the album in a magazine, rather than a poster for a tour. I'm going to research into some magazine posters, so I can get ideas from them for my own.

Feedback from draft Digipack and poster
After the feedback I have been given regarding my digipak and poster, sir has identified the improvements I need to undertake to make them both look professional and fit in with my genre of pop.
* One of the improvements I need to do to improve my digipak are the pictures. To do this I will reshoot them in front of a white screen in the AVS studio. This will make the pictures look more professional with a plain background and it will also mean the lighting of the pictures will be much brighter because I have access to the professional lightening equipment.
I will also need to change Izzy's outfit to a more relaxed look. This will include dressing her in skinny jeans/leggings, big baggy jumpers or blouses. I will choose colours that stand out so then it will look better from a distance and look more professional on the front of a digipak. I will then make sure the pictures I take will be of our model looking straight at the camera as eye contact is important on pop cover.

However the poster should be promoting the upcoming album of the artist. This will mean I will get rid of the tour dates on my draft poster and replace it with details on the album launch.
